“The Best Democracy Money Can Buy”

I was 5 weeks out of the country and somewhat removed from the heat of the upcoming midterm elections. Since a week I’m exposed to its full blow propaganda machine and it is really awful to see how special interest groups mainly sponsored by corporations try to manipulate the outcome to their favor.

Our editor from west of the Atlantic is back in the United States and speaks about the recent political circumstances.

Toertchen Toertchen: “Sweet Dreams are made of this”

Törtchen Törtchen” has been my favorite Gourmet experience during my 5 week stay in Germany.

Being over here in Germany for almost one and a half month our editor from west of the Atlantic was quite impressed by the Cologne bakery. Strawberry mint cake anyone?

“I’ll just read a book instead” – If Kate Nash says it…

why not doing it.

Today is the final day of the famous Frankfurt Book Fair 2010. As the official website claims it’s “a meeting place for the industry’s experts. Be they publishers, booksellers, agents, film producers or authors – each year in October, they all come together and create something new.”

The end of the DDR (GDR): Where did all the soccer-players go?

A transatlantic band? – The pyramid that does a headstand (actually, yoga keeps you healthy)

People have less children – I wrote about possible consequences – and also get older.
