Check your bills. 2010 brought 60,000 false bank notes to the country. More than half of it were 50-Euro-bills. So the old trick to identify counterfeit money doesn’t seem to work anymore: “How can you say this is a fake bill if you have never seen a 23-Euro-bill?”
The German Bundesbank cannot laugh about this joke. Comparing to 2009, their financial loss grew by almost 10 percent to 3.4 Million Euros.
