One thing we recently found out and didn’t know. Black who had a few massive hits in the 1980s, including “Wonderful Life” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”, his real name is Colin Vearncombe. He still has a deep powerful voice and we are glad to see there are some others who recently discovered Black’s music. Guys like Italian singer Zucchero and the singer of the British band The Editors together with Andy Burrows. Both recently covered “Wonderful Life”.
Back to black: Fortunately, he’s still making music and releasing it. From time to time as a free and limited download. January 2012 saw two new songs. “Black Cat” and, we like it, “Stop At Nothing”.
Go to colinvearncombe.com and download them. Good idea? We say yes. Some more information, including the cover to the 2-Track-EP there, too.
On a sidenote: Mr. Vearncombe, if you or some of the guys related to you read this. Always available to do an interview with you…
To leave you with some more music by Black we recommend the video below. Sweetest Smile live from Manchester back in 2004.
