People That Changed The World: Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)

People don’t need the iPad. It’s just a computer without a keyboard.” Some people said so. But a few more bought the iPad. After they bought various versions of the iPod, the iPhone…

The man who will always be related to those devices is Steve Jobs. “Through Apple [Editor’s note: The company he co-founded], he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution.” [source]

And there’s more…

Jobs co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios. He became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company. That in 2006 after Disney acquired Pixar.

For a Apple he found a way to make products cool and a must-have. It was about marketing and self-marketing. TV and web-spots as well as those special events when journalists sometimes got uncritical and he presented some new ideas. On stage. Jobs as a show-man, entertainer. That was new. Imagine other company’s CEOs on stage.

Steve Jobs could. Like here, back in 1998, at the first introduction of the iMac.

Steve Jobs changed the world. Although there are critical voices. How difficult as a character was he? How much of the devices were actually invented by himself?

In the end it’s the work of a lifetime. And something to be remembered for a long time.
