Berkeley Girl and Stars – New Music by Harper Simon

The transatlantic diablog likes to introduce to you Mr. Harper Simon. Singer, songwriter and guitar-player. Here’s his stateement about that: “As a guitar player, I’m just as comfortable playing honky tonk or fingerpicking folk-y stuff as I am playing a Ramones riff or a Ron Asheton style solo.

Born September 7, 1972 as Harper James Simon. Place of birth: New York.

Indie-Rock or Singer-Songwriter. You decide… In 2010 Harper Simon had released his first and self-titled solo-album. His latest album is called “Division Street” (Release: March 2013).

The video to the song “Berkeley Girl” was directed by Benjamin Kutsko and featured actress Jena Malone. “Wishes and Stars” from the same album has an all-american style. Check it out below…

Harper Simon’s second album is a step forward sonically. It was produced by Tom Rothrock who previously worked with Beck and Elliot Smith. The album also features some guests. Such as Pete Thomas from Elvis Costello’s Attractions, Nikolai Fraiture of the Strokes or Bright Eyes’ Nate Walcott.
