Founded on the banks of the Oconee River in the late 18th century it now is a place where many musicians come from. R.E.M., the B52’s, Danger Mouse, Vic Chesnutt, Drive-By Truckers, and many more. Actress Kim Basinger is also born in the small town…

So why is this place so creative? In a new documentary Noisey, the musical part of the VICE Magazine, asks the people who should know. People like Peter Buck of R.E.M..
