Two people of the runners universe: Helmut Urbach and Dominik Fabianowski.
The latter, 2014’s second fastest runner in Germany on the 42 kilometers distance of a Marathon. Personal best 30 minutes and 32 seconds for 10.000 meters. And currently recovering from a virus infection – by running 10 kilometers in 34 minutes and having a training week of 200 kilometers.
The other one: Helmut Urbach. Born 1942, he is now head of a local club of amateur runners. But his personal history of running is rather stunning. In September 1971 he achieved an official world record. The distance: 100 kilometers. Personal best on that distance: 6 hours and 40 minutes.
The transatlantic diablog caught up with both runners at a local run of amateurs in Cologne.
