Cold War Berlin in 1974: Young East-Berlin agent Lars Weber (Tom Schilling) is sent to the western parts of the divided capital. His mission: seducing Lauren Faber (Sofia Helin) to get secret information from the British secret service.
In the end “The Same Sky” (German title: “Der gleiche Himmel”), written by UK screen writer Paula Milne and directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, creates a much wider range of stories.
The story of Weber’s family in East-Berlin. His parents and siblings. Of life in the German Democratic Republic. Of secret services and of Weber falling in love with the daughter of a US-agent.
After being premiered in October 2016 at MIPCOM, a global market for entertainment content, now the movie will be shown by Netflix as well as German channel ZDF.
