Another exclusive video with footage from the archives of the transatlantic diablog. This one takes you back to 1977’s snowy and cold Chicago.

Four years ago the Sears Tower, the tallest building in the world for the next 30 years, was completed. The following year brought a heavy snowstorm with the city’s perceived slow response leading to an election defeat of the incumbent mayor. And on February 4, 1977, the 1977 Chicago Loop derailment killed eleven people as the cars of two elevated trains collided and fell onto the street below.

1977 also was the year, Chicago hosted its first Marathon…
